ABOUT CYDIA

Cydia is a Chicago born producer, director, actress, and interdisciplinary designer. She received her Bachelor's degree in Film and Psychology from Howard University where she produced her documentary short film, “Oreo,” an official selection at Chicago's Movies in the Parks in 2016. Though it was her debut film, its emphasis on human development, empowerment, and naturalism can be found in her subsequent storytelling. Her drive to enrich herself in storytelling led her to Yale University's Summer Conservatory where she also laid the foundation for a career in acting.

Upon returning to Chicago, she founded FlowerStudio Productions where she began producing, directing, and writing the web-series, Cindi and The City. In 2019, she was accepted into the Sundance Institute Director’s ColLab program throughout which she learned key components of naturalistic film directing under the guidance of film director, Peter Sollett.

That same year, she performed in a number of roles including The Interrogation of Sandra Bland presented at The Goodman Theatre and Sir Stanley in Eclectic Full Contact Theatre's adaptation of Richard IIIBy 2021, she had began studying at London's Identity Drama School for Acting where she performed in various showcases.

Cydia's approach to her craft stems from a wide-standing perspective that brings a level of attention to detail to her work. What sets her apart is her unique blend of artistry and storytelling that she infuses into every medium she undertakes. Collectively, all of Cydia's studies grant her a unique understanding of human behavior that guides her to craft narratives and experiences that resonate on a profound level.
